Our local health care providers include outstanding practitioners and facilities and are an integral part of the region's health care safety net. Woodland Healthcare is an affiliate of Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) and comprises Woodland Memorial Hospital, Woodland Clinic and Woodland Surgery Center. With more than 200 physicians licensed in 26 medical specialties, Woodland Memorial Hospital is a fully accredited, 120-bed, state-of -the-art, acute-care facility.
CHW is one of the leading not-for-profit health care systems in the country and is the largest Catholic health care system based in the western United States with 42 hospitals in California, Arizona and Nevada. In 2002, as part of its Community Grants program, CHW was proud to support Woodland's Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program, a network of volunteers who work with and advocate on behalf of abused and neglected children in the court dependency system.
Sutter at Work, Woodland's newest medical facility opened in 2002, providing physical therapy and fitness programs to restore function and relieve pain. Part of Sutter Health, Sutter Davis Hospital, nine miles south in Davis, offers comprehensive state-of-the-art medical services. The center is equipped with a birthing center, out-patient diagnostics, physician offices, surgery center, ICU, private rooms and 24-hour emergency service. Nationally recognized, the Sutter Heart Institute provides high quality cardiac diagnostic and rehabilitation programs in a local setting while coordinating patient access to the more advanced technology of a regional site 20-30 minutes from home.
The University of California, Davis Medical Center in Sacramento services as the area's primary health care referral center, providing extensive medical services in a wide range of specialties.
